Our mission

The main information resource of Chernobyl was created to share truthful information to Ukrainian and world audiences on the history of the Chernobyl tragedy, the current state of the Exclusion Zone, expose fakes and provide access to declassified documents, to report on the information component of the Chernobyl disaster.

Chernobyl is the perfect case of FAKE NEWS, which can be used to study the anatomy of information catastrophes and the consequences of propaganda, suppression and manipulation, which led to the biggest technological catastrophe and cost the lives and health of millions of people around the world. This still has a great impact on our lives today. Information impact, just as radiation one – is not immediately noticeable, but can have serious consequences.

We seek to change the current perception of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone – from the post-apocalyptic park of the Soviet Union to the Zone of Cultural and Scientific Research and Innovation, which preserves this unique experience for the whole world. We need to share and discuss such sensitive topics in order to learn Chernobyl lessons and prevent the history of one of the biggest informational disasters from repeating itself.

Our goal is to form a holistic understanding of the Chernobyl problems in the historical past, honoring the heroes of the liquidation of the accident consequences.
